Morrison exposes the climax of the story at the beginning similar to how a jazz tune is a new twist on a tune we’ve already heard.

Beautiful writing and the ideas in the characters heads are thought through so thoroughly.

The first review I saw mentioned how forgiving this book is to it’s characters, and I find that striking already in the first chapter. Such an insane string of events here and the characters are unpunished, it seems. It feels that the death of this girl the the desecration of her body are simply things we have moved on from.
