Those prolonged and detailed conversations are extremely good and captivating. E.g. chapter 17, Bazarov + Odinzova taking in the night. Also funny to see how Bazarov suddenly turns into a romantic, and Odinzova is revealed to be some sort of a nihilist herself, as she doesn‘t value any of her experiences, and have „lived so long, many memories, nothing worth remembering, long empty road ahead“

Interesting how Bazarov is such a sensualist after all and as soon as he has women to speak to - doesnt really matter if smart or not - he goes off the rails in a way and it seems like his stupid ideology is failing him. Also later on in the book, when they go on to travel to the town of this Odinzova, he makes remarks which make him a romanticist/not that pragmatic/logical (saints day congrats, ppl expecting him)

Really good so far; some of the heated arguments are really well delivered and make you feel strongly, too. Also, for someone probably more on the romantic side, some of those also enrage you
