I read the synopsis and loved the concept of the novel, but then my enthusiasm was dampened by the reviews. What's your take on the novel, Sheldon?

I think it probably has something to do with the first half of the book. It doesn't really take shape in an engaging way until about that point. There's a lot of Fat Man and Little Boy wondering around kind of trying to find a place to settle or something close to it. When that happens, though, it becomes highly readable and interesting.
