Before this chunk, I was telling people how readable Plato is. But I take it back. Okay, his ideas are easy to follow, but do we really need 1000 pages on a city which he's probably gonna go back over in excruciating detail to discount everything he's said. The examples. It's just like dragging my feet through mud, it's boring and I'm praying it was just this Orwellian little section. + I hope he takes it all back.

We've finally established justice, being when the parts of a whole perform their specific function and do not meddle in others, therefore giving that thing courage, wisdom and moderateness. I've just sat and read for 2 hours straight to get to where I got to on the first attempt at reading. I have no idea why I gave up the first one, it's not as gruelling as youd expect. I can imagine that leaving long spaces between reading would make it difficult though, as there's so much information and things to wrap your head around.

This is a second attempt at reading - I got roughly 40 pages in and gave up - I remember enjoying it but college got a bit much so it got left behind. I was annotating it, but I'm not sure if I'll continue with that. We'll see.
