Reminds me of my old manager, her husband, my brother, some cousins, and my parents, plus some so-called friends from child-adolescent hood, and a boyfriend or two. I guess if I was raised by narcissistic people, I would assume that was normal and match myself with what was familiar as I grew up. Now, I can’t stand people that way at all anymore. Not at all. It’s too toxic, and I’ve had more than enough. Done.

Other books I have read about narcissism usually make reference to shame; she doesn’t. Therapy that focuses on healing one’s struggle with shame is often what helps alleviate the negative symptoms surrounding people with this problem - narcissism. I wonder if this author knows this (she must) and consciously chooses to keep it out.
