I love Cicero and that despite his many virtues of being an honest and patriotic man, he’s still portrayed as a politician who’s primary aim is power. Sure, he’s better than the others because he wants to use his power to protect the institutions of Rome, but the question of whether it is right to ceaselessly protect those institutions is always there.
