It resonates with me that she talks about language as part of our identity. She talks about how she’d love to have told her younger self not to loose Czech language, because if you loose your mother tongue, you become a linguistic orphan. I also like that she too as a ESL speaker feels judged when speaking her mother language outside home, referencing how people believe it belongs in the “kitchen” not in public
