(Shaun Mac Irewick, briefdragger, for the concern of Messrs Jhon Jhamieson and Song, rated one hundrick and thin per storehundred on this nightly quisquiquock of the twelve apostrophes, set by Jockit Mic Ereweak. He misunderstruck and aim for am ollo of number three of them and left his free natural ripostes to four of them in their own fine artful disorder.)

... thence your pristopher polombos, hence our Kat Kresbyterians; the curt witty witty dashes never quite just right at the trim trite truth letter; the sudden spluttered petulance of some capjtaljsed middle; a word as cunningly hidden in its maze of confused drapery as a field mouse in a nest of colored ribbons: ...

The teatimestained terminal (say not the tag, mummer, or our show’s a failure!) is a cozy little brown study all to oneself and, whether it be thumbprint, mademark or just a poor trait of the artless, it’s importance in establishing the identities in the writer complexes (for if the hand was one, the minds of active and agitated were more than so) will be best appreciated by never forgetting ... it was a habit ...

These ruled barriers along which the traced words, run, march, halt, walk, stumble at doubtful points, stumble up again in compeirative safety seem to have been drawn first of all in a pretty checker with lampblack and blackthorn. Such crossing is antechristian of course, but the use of the homeborn shillelagh as an aid to calligraphy shows a distinct advance from savagery to barbarism.

Closer inspection of the bordereau would reveal a multiplicity of person- alities infflcted on the documents or document and some prevision of virtual crime or crimes might be made by anyone imwary enough before any suitable occasion for it or them had so far managed to happen along.

Thank you, Olga! Nice to hear from you.By brooched I’m guessing he means broached. An interesting word in itself, but how much that helps understanding I’m not sure.🙂

Thank you, Jon.I have a feeling switching back and forth between Finnegans Wake and Infinite Jest might be dangerous?
Thank you, Vanitha!Every since I abandoned the desire to ever understand what’s going on here, I’ve had a lot more fun. It’s become my sort of retreat to the safety of the crazy book, when the real world gets too mad. F.W. is basically a happy book. So is Ulysses.🙂

I would think it could be fairly disorienting. I would think that Wallace's pseudorealist language would be the exact opposite of Joyce's dreamlike wordplay.

Thank goodness I don’t have to explain why I like Joyce so much. It’s just fun.😁
