I find it so interesting how western Christian culture essentially stole all of their art, designs, and inspiration from other cultures’ religions. For another example, the image of Mary and baby Jesus came from paintings from ancient Egypt. I also learned about this in art in college. Just so cool, but also foreshadowing generations of colonization.

If they ever do find Mary's body, no one will ever be able to convince me that it won't be incorruptable. It will be completely intact.

And now, christian nationalists hate the fact that catholics admire Mary and pray to her. They call Catholics "not real christians" because they give so much power and reverance to Mary (among other reasons). I find it interesting how it's just always about tearing women down no matter the time period.

I'm gonna have to read about Alexander because it seems like he has his fingers in EVERYTHING relating to antiquity

Given how worshipped and revered Artemis and the other female greek gods (and goddesses of other cultures) were, I can't help but think we would have had a matriarchy if men hadn't gotten their feelings hurt and decided to colonize.

I can't help but wonder if there were real people the greeks thought to be gods/goddesses, like how Jesus was a real person. It just makes me wonder because there are so many myths, theories, and "accounts" of people meeting and working with the gods. The golden rule also provides some fuel to this fire as well, but I wonder if randoms just said they were gods in order to be treated with more esteem.
