“Standing on my doorstep, disguised a monster, is love begging to be let in.”

-I spend years writing horror stories and was never once asked if there were true - but as soon I write a love story, the whole world wants to know if it’s true. As if that matters. As if the heartbreak behind it wasn’t satisfying enough; well, what if I told you it was 12% true? or 48%? What exact percentage of truth is enough for you-. How much pain do I need to endure for you to enjoy my art.

I love the way Hazel Hayes writes

the switching of who “you” is referring to simultaneously sucker punched me and gave me butterflies

“-the ending has changed… it’s decidedly more difficult to inject a sense of whimsy into a love story when you know they break up in the end.
Now this is just another sad story with a couple that thought, for some reason, they would be different.”
