Each sin has 1. A cause that is from our self will. And 2. Necessary consequences, which God corrects by warnings, chastisements, and eventually death. Besides the cause of sin (our self-will), God allows and is according to His will.

Saint Remigius - foresaw terrible famine in the next year, so he gathered reserves to feed the poor. But some of the poor were wicked and started to say he was stocking up for other reasons against them, so they burned the wheat. The saint did not complain and was more sad about the state some of his flock was to do such evil. Shows that stocking up is good, but faith in God and God’s will is most important
