It's been dragging for a while now. I had to speed up the audiobook during my run in order to not get frustrated - not a good sign. Currently hovering around 3.5/5 but if it keeps going like this it'll dip more.

I own this one but always put it off because it looks so chonky. My favorite by this author is the novella Indiana Death Song in the Abnormal Statistics collection. It's the perfect length and probably one of my favorite horror novellas ever actually.

I have that one up next on Hoopla, but given how this one is going I might listen to something by a different author first to break things up. For Maggots, right now I think if the story had ended after part one it would have been much more effective, once they go to the body farm it turns soooo tedious.
Good to know! My squirrel brain struggles with long books even when they *don't* drag so that's what I was afraid of.
