I'm getting a few nasty comments at my site over the Unicorn Hunters review, which I'm ignoring.
But do these people realise I see their email address & IP location when they comment? They're gifting me information about them that I can use to ask my friend Craig to put me in contact w/his chums in the Uncle Vladimir Hitman Services Inc. to send one to their home.

I don't get how people haven't figured out that people have different taste in books. It boggles the mind.

Some people are really mad. I also have a lot of hate and insults in my negative reviews, especially for my sunrise on the reaping review. So I totally get you.
I don’t understand being nasty to someone who has a different opinion on a book? There’s books that I’ve agreed with your reviews on and others I’ve disagreed. But I don’t take it personally. I actually enjoy reading your reviews where we differ because it’s interesting to see another view point. Also… how hard is it for some people to scroll past a review they don’t agree with? They must be exhausted all the time from that.
Sava (Fang Runin’s version) wrote: "Some people are really mad. I also have a lot of hate and insults in my negative reviews, especially for my sunrise on the reaping review. I'm sorry that you experience this too. How do you deal with it? I know we joke about it, at least I do, but it can be emotionally taxing and stressful too.
Victoria wrote: "Also… how hard is it for some people to scroll past a review they don’t agree with? They must be exhausted all the time from that."Some are unable to, and do stupider things as well. I have seen some really surprising things that readers are willing to do to a reviewer.
There's a reason the majority of them are positives or neutrals or hide their real feelings. Online intimidation works.
That is appalling, but hardly surprising. I have trashed a few books that earned the dishonor, but haven't had any responses like that. They must fear cranky old men.
I really couldn’t care less. Because I see it as some random people’s words on the Internet(which they literally are). I was a victim of awful abuse in real life. This is nothing. Believe me. Just ignore.
Sava (Fang Runin’s version) wrote: "I was a victim of awful abuse in real life. This is nothing..."I'm sorry about that, Sava! <3
I don't really care about the words either, even though the frequency and volume of these comments is what even I can find exhausting. It's when they do more than that when it crosses a line.

Meishuu wrote: "Why do you always get the most annoying people in your reviews? 😭"It must be my irresistible animal magnetism, m'dear. It always attracts the lost little beastlings.
In all seriousness, I always manage to hit a nerve one way or another. From the phrasing of the nasty comments, these are people who feel personally attacked by my opinions and it turns on some attack dog switch in their mind. Goodness knows there are plenty of others out there who "review" books calling the author names and using plenty of expletives, but somehow those fly under the radar, uh?
Is it ok that I’m laughing about this 😂😂😂 Sorry you are getting mean comments, but this response had me laughing so hard 😅
i hate that you're getting hate comments...but also wow haters really are stupid like the things you could do with someones email, no hitmen required
Clarice wrote: "Is it ok that I’m laughing about this 😂😂😂 Sorry you are getting mean comments, but this response had me laughing so hard 😅"Hahaha! Do feel free to laugh, that's my intent. 😅
As annoying as these experiences are, there's some humour to be found in them... a wee bit.
Freefall wrote: "i hate that you're getting hate comments...but also wow haters really are stupid like the things you could do with someones email, no hitmen required"Yeah, and not everyone uses a disposable/alternate email, too. And even if they do, I still have their location. I do know where the majority of my haters come from. 😅
I’m sorry you’re getting this kind of hate, it’s honestly super annoying. Like if you don’t like someone’s opinion why bother arguing about it? You can still like the thing even if others don’t. The hive mind of “we must all agree on everything” thing is getting super annoying and weird, it’s insane. The few terrible horrible hate comments I’ve gotten on reviews (which have been very few, thankfully) I either ignore and leave up so everyone else can read their stupidity or I laugh at and delete by reposting my review, since on the app you apparently can’t delete others’ comments, only your own which is stupid but whatever. 😂
And the thing with the email…just how stupid can one BE? 🤣

At least in my case, with the kinds of books I read I can step on too many toes when I review the popular ones negatively, but you . . . All you read are clean and heartwarming stories, from what I can see, what even could elicit hate from those? 🤔
Morphing Erebus wrote: "Some people have too much time on their hands."You'd think they'd make use of that abundance of free time for reading even more books, uh? But naaah! Let's go troll the one whose opinion I disagree with.
Mostly they’re under the category of “what do you know?” type of “hate” comments that call into question whether I read and understood the material or not “correctly”, at least in their eyes, and if I have any taste at all. So they’re more passive aggressive than actual hate and I’ve only gotten a few compared to what you and others have gotten, but they’re still annoying. (Or maybe I’ve gotten more but since Glitchreads never tells me about them I’ll never know until I stumble across them five years from now. 🤦🏼♀️🫠)And I bet ya if/when I ever go back and reread and review Mockingjay I’ll be getting some there because I did NOT like that book. 😅
Sarah wrote: "Mostly they’re under the category of “what do you know?” type of “hate” comments that call into question whether I read and understood the material or not “correctly”."Hahaha! Yeah, I get those as well. And yes, they are hate, thinly disguised as condescension and calling your intellectual capacity into question for not thinking like them about a book.
Judgmentalism and snobbery galore. ;)

There are a lot of examples of Dunning Kruger syndrome floating about.
Since I turned off comments from non-friends, they've gone to Zana's reviews (wild) and commented that I'm a coward. LOL
Mai wrote: "Since I turned off comments from non-friends, they've gone to Zana's reviews (wild) and commented that I'm a coward. LOL"My girl, you'll have to ring me up so I can pass along Uncle Vladimir's business card. 🤣
Poor Zana, with the trolling she must already endure for her own stuff, now she has to take a hit for the friends. These people are really relentless!
Sarah wrote: "Ugh, very much so. 🙄"Bit of advice: Don't delete your reviews in order to eliminate those comments. Come log in from the browser version and delete the comments only. You can do that from the web browser, unlike the app.
Fred wrote: "There are a lot of examples of Dunning Kruger syndrome floating about."Yeah, an unfortunate truth. Every one of those people seem to think themselves smarter than you, and don't even stop to think that often it's not even a matter of smarts but taste.
And the things they assume from what they can see of your reading are baffling, too. What happened to not judging people for their personal tastes?

I bet you can't find both of my locations. 😜 I never know when you're going to visit GR. You've been neglecting me, and I'm starting to think we're not GR besties anymore.
Persephone's Pomegranate wrote: "I never know when you're going to visit GR. You've been neglecting me, and I'm starting to think we're not GR besties anymore."Hey, what timing! I just dropped you an email 'cause I was thinking of you th'other day...
Sorry to you and the other friends! I've been neglecting all of you for the crazy organising & scheduling I'm doing back from the Summer break (note to self: don't take long Summer breaks, they are the reason Rome fell and Europe will fall...), but should be done in one week more or so. End of month toppy tops!
Persephone's Pomegranate wrote: "I bet you can't find both of my locations. 😜"Pfft, you're a case for Sherlock Cucumberbatch, but I'm soooo cloooose to locating you for kidnapping purposes. 😜

Haha well I divide my time between two places - a city and a countryside. You'll have to use your best detective skills. 😄
Btw, I read Styx, that Greek mythology book I was yapping to you about. I read it a few days ago and will post my review when the book is officially released.

I'm so very behind on my reads that I'm going to have to play pick-'n'-drop when I finally sit down to read my pending pile. 🤔
