Lyndsey Resnick’s Reviews > The Lady and Her Monsters: A Tale of Dissections, Real-Life Dr. Frankensteins, and the Creation of Mary Shelley's Masterpiece > Status Update

I am now getting emails from Goodreads asking if I've finished this book. NO. It's too detailed to rush through. The section about Shelley's pyre is heartbreaking.

This book is a trip. It is sprawling and rambling, but there was a LOT going on in the scientific, religious and literary world at the time. So many societal and moral changes. I admire the author's willingness to tackle it.

Reading about Resurrectionists, Galvanism and early anatomical and surgical endeavors occurring around the time Mary Shelley wrote Frankenstein's monster is disturbing.
