The Earthsea books have mastered silence and sound, and I do not know how. I don’t know if any other books I have read have mastered something like that, but each chapter makes me hear to the point of seeing and tasting and my energy is drained at the end of each chapter as I am no mage. Le Guin writes with the magic within this world.
