Gilbert is very dismissive of Sex & the City (and I don’t argue that it was problematic in many ways, but for the time was groundbreaking in many regards). Meanwhile, she’s really elevating the cultural impact of Girls. Maybe it’s because I’m a fan of S&tC, and very much not a fan of Lena Dunham, but this is really rubbing me the wrong way.
