This is my third Robert McCammon book, and while I have not enjoyed the plot or characters quite as much as I did in the previous two, it still shares two qualities that the others had as well: it has perfect pacing, and even this far into the book I have absolutely no idea what’s going to happen next.

What a weird, tragic, intensely American story. Feels like a time capsule
