I don't understand why Dex had to be a monk in this narrative. Dex hasn't sacrificed most worldly pursuits (they have sex, and lovers); they are self-directed and fully autonomous; at least while they're a tea monk they aren't separate from secular society; and it seems as though service and routine bores them, which is a monk's entire purpose.

Lots of lore about the world so far but it feels like none of it really matters or interacts with the plot. Feels pointless
They ditched the tea monk storyline and did a two year time skip??? Come on
Dex’s character is weird and blurry. They swear and have sex and lust after exhausted hot dads and they get tired of their “dull” jobs very quickly. Idk
