4.5, A book about shame, loss, and the slow, steady growth of honesty with oneself and others that is sometimes possible. It’s also about healing and friendships, the long shadow of middle school trauma, the insidiousness of addiction, and desperation to both be invisible and also find a place to belong. Really well done, super engaging format, and will be loved by kids who’ve never even touched a soccer ball.
