Darn that's disappointing. Maybe the other chapters are better?

@jaycee there’s just a bunch of points I disagree with. Not saying it’s bad or anything but there’s def a lot that I don’t agree with. He talks abt how he believes the idea of one person being made for u to marry is a myth. I highly disagree bc I do believe God chooses one person, when Abraham was looking for a bride for his son his servant literally prayed to God to show him a sign of what women he wanted Isaac to marry. It also doesn’t make sense if we think about how we each have spirits and purpose I don’t think children are just made out of a random decision we as humans made but God brought those parents together. He went on to basically say that he could have married a woman that could or could not have been better than his current wife bc of this idea that u just choose a good spouse. I’m sorry but nah. And he meant it tot not wrong like he explained how it was a beautiful decision to marry his wife but to say that it’s merely up to our choice I disagree. He also talked abt how rom coms give us unrealistic expectations but like what rom coms are we talking? Cause like smutty rom coms are totally different from christian fiction Rom coms? And if they were totally wrong then why do married Christian women write and read and love rom coms? He also basically said that attraction shouldn’t be a main part of choosing a spouse, which yes it shouldn’t be the only but like Jacob chose Rachel and saw she was beautiful. Like u also need to be attracted to ur spouse, attraction is not just some random thing society teaches us abt beauty its literally a chemical reaction ur body is reacting to. So yeah i did disagree on a few points but there were some good ones too but yeah I don’t think this one is for me.

Oh yeah... I definitely disagree with those points too. Like, with the rom-com one, shouldn't people have high standards and expectations? I mean, of course your spouse is still human, and they're going to make mistakes, but I think it's important to see that there are a lot of good, Christian men in the world who will do the things you see in books if they really love you.
