One of my favorites.

I love her stuff. Brawler was a favorite. I really appreciate the way she writes about and from the perspective of children. It feels… I don’t know, respectful, maybe? And while people criticize her stuff as dark or depressing I often find her characters rising above absolute shit circumstances to be hopeful. She’s excellent at describing the natural world, too.
