I learned that Lewis Carroll came up with his pen name by translating his birth name Charles Lutwidge Dodgson into Latin, Carolus Ludovicus, then reversed the order of names, Ludovicus Carolus, and finally, loosely translated those names back into English which then became Lewis Carrol. I didn’t know this before, thank you Susie Dent!
