The worst kind of memoir - history as a form of psychotherapy. The history is fascinating. The personal journey is flat, despite the dramatic rocketing between false dichotomies. The last chapter completely fails the reader and should have remained in the author’s personal diaries - it is the definition of self-indulgent.
