The statue is a representation of death. Has Vale been around for all of this over the years, he makes the castle keep his secrets?

Well, can't the just crown him herself and the heart strings would be returned to him antways via the crown? He'd kill her after being crowned as the curse requires in order to be fed, but he can bring her back to life because it'll be her last wish. Then they'd be together and the land would still heal.

Her returning to life wouldn't contradict the initial wish from when he was fooled before.

The rule is she needs to LOVE him. Otherwise the death isn't legitimate. So he needs to make her fall in love with him now. Thats be the meat of the book. A wedding or child doesn't matter unless having an heir is also woven in to the curse?

No I don’t think an heir matters but it’s probably a loves true kiss situation like beauty and the beast.

Like how his heart was broken by them killing his father figure. Hence the curse so only true love can break it.
