I say this as a compliment: this book is just as gruesome and gross as the first one so far, just in a different way. Arteries and nerve endings waving around on their own turned my stomach almost as hard as the rotten heart in book one.

Yeah, I really hate Wycliff. Describing a man as an idiot because he misunderstood a question immediately after finding out his daughter was dead? Uggh. At least he didn't say it out loud. Anyways, I think I know what sort of creature Wycliff might be--my first few guesses were close, but if my current guess is right, it'll be way more interesting than I expected!
