After partaking in a group centered around socialism, it never felt like I knew enough to be part of the group because I didn't know Marx, Engels, or Mao like that. And if I were to cite women that centered their theories and research around Marxist thought, it felt like it was tossed to the side despite it being relevant to Hawaiʻi. This part made me feel more secure in the knowledge that I come from and bring.

maybe it's because i'm on my period, but the beginning made me emotional. the introduction was a good reminder of what the fight is all for. "We should be giving more than we are taking" is such an important statement to me, especially being in a world where taking and absorbing is more important than giving or putting out.
