Something I do appreciate here is that while the two male love interests are important and a driving point for the fmc, they don't detract from her goals and wants, and she actually respects and speaks up for women under her command.

Genuinely this is one of the few books like this I've read where the main conflict and the romance are balanced in a way that does not piss me off.
