What does He want to communicate to this person in this situation? What truths should shape my response?
2. The king’s methods
How does the Lord bring change in me/others? What responses are consistent w/ the goals of the gospel?
3. The king’s character
Why does the Lord do what he does? What motives in my heart could hinder the Lord’s work in this situation?

“Why are we so good at turning moments of ministry into moments of anger? Why are we so adept at personalizing what is not personal? …The answer to all of these questions is that we think of our lives as our own, and we are more committed to the purposes of our own kingdom, than to God’s.”

I should’ve waited before taking note of that quote to add to it further on!

“Sin not only causes me to respond sinfully to suffering, it causes me to respond sinfully to blessing.”

“Sinners tend to respond sinfully to being sinned against.”

So basic and yet so helpful to remember. It is easy to think that the initial wrong justifies one’s reaction to it.
