I have yet to read his work. Do you find it terrifying or more literary? Or maybe both?

I am not all that familiar with his work myself yet and am only starting to dig into it. I did enjoy his novels Immobility and Last Days especially, but I’m still trying to wrap my head around his short story collections. I wouldn’t consider this horror so much, though. I’d say his work is rather bleak, uncanny, and disorienting overall. Much is left unsaid, while dread fills in the gaps. It takes some imagination, and I sometimes prefer things to be spelled out a bit more, perhaps because English is not my native tongue.

Interesting. I’ve read some of the synopses on his books and they do often sound bleak, but intriguing in a way I think you just nailed. I will probably give one of the novels a try some time. Thanks.
