I feel like Tezuka is not done justice in this book. I see how commercializing animation led to low quality work in Japan after his techniques were employed for all their cheapness, but he did differentiate between what he believed to be animation for the TV and animation for art. His later works, albeit short, prove how artistic he is. His experimental works are all very good watches with meaning and great art.
