This book thrives at teaching the reader how to do theology. Explanations are so verbose that you can see how the conclusions are reached; however, by that same standard, it fails at being a useful reference. The explanations are so verbose that I cannot quickly find a statement of truth within its pages.

Honestly, there's too much content. Each topic takes multiple chapters. Each chapter provides a lot more information than I need. I doubt I would refer back to this in the future because of the long winded explanation of each theological doctrine.

So far it feels like the authors just quote a lot of people for the sake of making the book longer. First 3 chapters could have been half as long without losing any of the core content.
