Ugh. This book had such promise. The first half was pretty good, a solid four stars. But it became a slog, a murky, neverending slog as Simon and Katherine the Abo embarked on their exodus. Her fugue states/dreams/hallucinations were terrible and boring and poorly conveyed. The only interesting character was the demon, and Simon killed him. Terrible novel.
