Just started reading this book. Promising start. Anything that starts off with a painting by Manet and a character who reads lots of books is a winner for me. Hoping to have found a book and a story to love and get lost in.

I’m loving this book so far. I love the story and the characters. The book reminds me of the style of writing like Steinbeck. I love Cricket and how he’s discovering his love of art. I love that the book has sketches from the author. I’m looking forward to immersing myself into the story.
