Andrei Velasco’s Reviews > That Time I Got Reincarnated as a Slime, Vol. 18 > Status Update

Really surprised this turned out a lot worse than the previous volume. They combined the two things I had zero interest on, then put it in like second half of the book. Rimuru was supposed to be departing like a chapter ago now, but where is he? I don’t like how all this was handled at all.

We’re going back to the meeting before Feldway and Michael’s attack of the ice palace?

Kagali put Zalario over Deeno? Not what I was expecting. That said, Zalario still fits more the Testarossa archetype for me.

I really don’t like the dedicated sections for the clowns. Never liked it. I mean, I was interested in seeing Yūki’s wits, but with him inactive, all these are just boring. Combine that with the angels, and there’s just nothing hooking me in. This will probably be the worst chapter of this volume.

Rather an having more than half the volume be occupied by the country building, all of these will be taken care of in one big chapter, huh. Honestly feels similar to my experience reading Mushoku Tensei. In fact, I do feel that the True Dragon evolution and the upcoming battle with Michael is giving me similar emotions to that I got from MT volume 15–17.

The settings are being set up from the looks of things. That large magic circle on Leon’s domain reminds me of the one made in FMAB.

I’m taking it that Rimuru had a mix of angelic and demonic Ultimate skills. Is Ciel classified as a skill?
