Unpolished ass writing. A lot of “suddenly”’s and “in an instant” to lazily express urgency. FMC is flung meters but MMC is “inches” apart from her. Only for their faces to be inches apart a few paragraphs later. MMC drags his leather gloved hand down his face and grabs the FMC’s chin with his leather gloved hand a few paragraphs later. It is ROUGH.

This is such a disappointment. A basic ~quirky~ romantasy wearing a gothic trenchcoat. It's so tonally dissonant I roll my eyes everytime there's ~~quirky banter~~. And that was a majority of the story. So fuck me I guess.

I like it so far, but it’s unnecessarily wordy. I guess she didn’t want modern, anachronistic prose—which I fully respect. I hate that shit in period-ish pieces. But we can knock off some adverbs and adjectives here and there…
