It’s been quite some time since I’ve seen Road to El Dorado, but I’m pretty sure the climax of the movie is a lot like this.

I hate the way Lita is written so much. I hate the misogyny. I’m just so sick of it.

Is this supposed to be banter? Is it supposed to be funny? I’m about three-quarters done with this book and I have yet to even smile at any of the “jokes”.

There is zero tension or stakes throughout this book, which is par for the course with Aiden Thomas.

I really do hate how Aiden Thomas writes women.

Almost every single moment that’s supposed to be heartwarming falls so flat. So often, it feels like I’m reading about very small children who are just now realizing that they’re not the center of the universe, or like aliens who’ve just arrived on Earth. I don’t know how else to explain it.

So I’m over halfway through the book, and I think we’ve finally got a little bit of a plot going on.

Why are you telling us the same information that you just told us two pages ago? Almost word-for-word! The editing is so bad!

I’m pretty sick of Julian mixing up phrases and being corrected. I think it’s supposed to be funny, but of course it doesn’t land.
