I’m not loving how this book speculates on Marlowe’s sexuality. As far as I know, the homosexual rumours only came about after Marlowe died, but in the first 75 pages, this book has already theorised that Marlowe was in a pederastic relationship with his teacher, and said almost concretely that he had gay sex whilst at college. The book is treating homosexuality as a scandal.
