Rue says that she feels a lot when she's with Eli. But the author describes that when the two talk, apart from lust and a lack of empathy or pity, there's absolutely nothing else. So why did Rue suddenly say she felt so much? Especially since she and he had only met four days prior, had sex once, and then met again two weeks later and had sex again. That means they only have sex; how can they love each other?

Chapter 33 is over, and they still haven't gone on a date or had a decent conversation that doesn't involve sex. Every time they meet, it's always arousing and ends with sex. But But according to the timeline, they met less than a month ago. More precisely, three weeks or a little more. How could they have fallen in love?

It's frustrating that after reading half the book, the chemistry between Rue and Eli is still purely sexual. They only sleep together, literally; there's no date, no conversation to understand each other. The parts where they both recount their pasts feel forced, and neither Rue nor Eli's emotions towards each other are sympathy, embarrassment, or any other feeling besides lust.

The male and female protagonists only met three days ago, yet the first ten chapters are dedicated solely to describing how aroused they become upon seeing each other. And the author claims that's love????
