The book has really started to pick up. I remember the moment Varvara Petrovna asks her son “is [Mavriky Lebdykana] your newly wed” my mouth was just agape, I was absolutely shocked and I stayed like that for about 10 seconds.
This book is certainly different from other Dostoyevsky’s books I’ve read, it’s less spiritual and more cynically captivating, I love it.
