I’m crying because Gregor’s sister is bringing him rotten vegetables to try to eat and that seems remarkably kind. Why do the rotten vegetables seem so kind? He feels noticed.. I hurt because you never even showed me the kindness of rotten vegetables. You were Gregor’s father. And I ask myself why I settled for this.. why I let you treat me like a monster for my illness.
