I’m so glad I fell deeper into her work. Unfiltered, unfettered, and oh so unique. I’ve never read anything quite like it; her prose is beautiful and a little uncomfortable at times if you’re not prepared for the rawness of it. Her ability to capture such a unique perspective and culture, and realize a memoir though that guise is hauntingly beautiful.

I’ve never read anything like this. I’ve been reading Emezi for a few years and this book is such great context for her background, the cannon she’s read and is considering, and some of the deep raw shit she went through to get where she is. A cool look at Igbo Ontology, Nigerian Geography and social Commentary/culture, with some great nuggets for writers.
