"Simply stated, the eye extracts from the pain it is contemplating a surplus value of code that compensates the broken relationship between the voice of alliance that the criminal has wronged, and the mark that had not sufficiently penetrated his body. The crime... re-established by the spectacle of the punishment: as primitive justice, territorial representation has foreseen everything." p. 191

"There is an unconscious libidinal investment of the social field that coexists, but does not necessarily coincide, with the preconscious investments.... That is why, when subjects, individuals, or groups act manifestly counter to their class interests... it is not enough to say: they were fooled.... It is a problem of desire, and desire is part of the infrastructure." p. 104

Ending annotations here. The further I progress, the more and less I understand, but I sense that I'm annotating for the sake of checkpointing rather than analyzing, interpreting, or any somesuch mode of organizing my thoughts on the material. It's too captivating, and I'm too much of a novice to keep stalling through Deleuze and Guattari's examinations and arguments. Following updates are retained for pithy asides.

Three texts of Freud. "We are all perverts!" Finally internalizing Foucault's interpretation of this text as a guide toward a "non-fascist life"; Deleuze and Guattari challenge Freud (and the field of psychoanalysis) by interrogating the fascistic nature of oedipalization in Freud's own observations. Oedipus flattens, reduces the irreducible. It is a cure (false consciousness?) in need of a cure: schizophrenization.

The whole and its parts, and the imperialism of Oedipus. It's likely arrogant to say such, but I'm finally wrangling some sense out of "machines of desire". Flows, the production of flows, stem from "desiring-machines" (the mouth which desires the milk which flows from the breast) irrespective of "the whole". Hence, a counter to the encompassing psychoanalytic Oedipus. Partial objects, not a totality.
