I am currently on page 90 of my book, The Words We Keep, and I would so far rate it an 8/10. I am enjoying this book because it feels realistic and focuses on serious topics like grief, family, friendship, and mental health. The main character, Lily, is dealing with major mental health issues after losing her mother. I think the author is doing a great job on showing how this affects Lily's relationships.

I have gotten through to about 30 more pages in The Words We Keep and so far we see Lily struggling to express herself and using her poetry to express her words. Lily is involved in a poetry project with Micah providing healthy advice and help for her. Lily is also diagnosed with bipolar disorder and a lot of her emotions are really coming into play more and more as we go further in the book.

I am currently on page 61 of the Words We Keep. Lily is in her English class when she feels a disconnect from her body, "Seriously Lily. Say something. Anything!" (Stewart 61) This quote shows how Lily is sort of floating away and lost in her mind. This is concerning, however I think she will be okay and be able to conversate soon. I believe next she will get help from a classmate to get back on track.
