I really connect with some books that span generations, like The Covenant of Water, but claustrophobic stories tend to resonate with me more than ones more ambitious in scope.
At a restaurant with a small menu, you can trust the ingredients are fresh and that everything is a specialty.

After finally finishing the beautiful but dense tome that is One Hundred Years of Solitude, I'm a little wary of cracking open another story that spans the breadth of generations across centuries.
