I’m reading this novel for school. I like it so far, although it has multiple themes of inter-family marriage. Bella, a 15 year old girl, emigrates to America in 1911 to live with her older cousin Pietro-who she’s crushing on- at a boarding house. Bella gets a job at the Triangle Shirtwaist Factory, courtesy of Pietro, where she quickly picks up the work. That’s the summary for chapter one.
