repeated motifs: something being defined as the absence of something else (freedom is the absence of responsibility, baby's pee smells like sweet with the absence of grossness), danish openness vs american skittishness, american gender politics vs danes (danes being inclusive but having very defined ideas of gender, america's anxiety to be genderless and inclusive)

I almost don't want to read this. I just want to stare at the cover. I almost want this as a painting in my house. The colors are perfect, the face is exactly pained, the child teeth in the back of the mouth draws the eyes in, the tears are perfect little dots, all brought together with eye catching color. You wanna help this baby out.
