idk how to feel about the writing style; the author switches between assuming every reader knows a random fact or cultural practice of joseon (korea) and then not elaborating or giving any clues on whatever it is to over-explaining basic cultural/regional things such as the jeju island free divers (which i knew about before) and traditional clothing (hanbok, which i swear she explains like TWENTY TIMES!!!)
