I was actually interested in Die Hard in the Big Easy.
Less ‘Punisher in’ and more the New Orleans part of it.
They really hit ALL the cliches.
I did like seeing some familiar sights.
I also appreciated that Punisher had to fight through this new trauma.
I just don’t like that he shot someone with a bunch of civilians around.

Spinning Doomsday’s Web
This is a lot more Black Widow story than a Punisher one.
Their first interaction makes me think Nat and Frank hadn’t met before.
This starts off with BW doubting herself, which Fury uses to his advantage.
I’d have thought her training would have silenced that small voice in her head, but I suppose she’s only human.
Nat’s reminded how close life and death really are.

I knew I didn’t want to read issues #71-75 fully.
I did skim through the pages and it’s exactly what it always is.
Punisher running around shooting drug dealers and crime lords.
And LOTS of explosions.
Castle just isn’t a sympathetic character to me. And you can’t even get invested in any of the other characters.
‘Bar War’ is just that. Nothing of substance. Then P just looked weird in ‘Flare Up’.

I was also going to read the ‘Eurohit’ storyline but it’s set before Daredevil #300. Which I have already read.
I know that's a really shallow reason but it’s also 7 issues I don’t have to read Punisher shoot and kill people.

Punisher V2 #63 -
A one-shot story. That shows Frank grocery shopping??
He’s a wanted criminal and he’s just scanning the aisles like he’s just a regular Joe?
Anyway, this goes the way they all do. Punisher picks off the crooks one by one.
Though, we learn that Frank can’t stand to cook live lobsters!

G-Force #1 -
I was actually planning on reading this. But I just couldn’t bring myself to do more than skim through the pages.
And I mean, I know I wasn’t missing much.
The one thing that was a tad exciting was that Punisher found himself in a space shuttle.
I did like the art though. It was spread onto the entire page which is always a nice change of pace.

I would love to know what my past self thought when she bought all these Punisher comics.
I had known he was a ‘shoot first, ask questions never’ kind of guy.
I suppose you never really know how repetitive a character’s stories can get until you’ve actually read them…

Punisher is such a simple character concept that I wonder if it makes it extremely challenging to write a decent story for him. I've yet to find a work that's -cough-cough- blown me a way. (:cringesinternally: but isn't sorry)

Otherwise, I will continue to curse my younger self for buying so many of these comics!

A true making of a monster story.
