Dmn that ending hits me every time. Gives me chills. Makes my heart race. And tears..*swallows* man. This book is like a wealth of info, of the beginning to the mystery and deceit.
Though its fuzzy, she tells chaol her real truth, but I don't think she tells dorian?? Unless I skimmed over that part.but it didn't seem like that, it just said she gave Dorian the abridged truth so wtf. Tell one man not the other? Harsh

Omigod this story about the valg, keys, gates, kings and Fae queen have me snorting aloud.

Dorian is such a great friend, seriously.

"You will always be my enemy"
"He had lost her"
"To escape death, she became death"
Man I forgot how intense this part was, especially after you know who was you know what.

One of the things I admire about Dorian. He was willing to let her go, to give her a chance to find her own happy ending. And to allow himself at a chance at a true shot of love.
And I has forgotten that witches are a mix of valg and Fae.
And p, king, and cousin hav all have matching things, how adorable. Trio, bestie for life. Ha. Kidding.

And that killed their romance pretty quickly, almost as soon as it started, didn't it? But chaol kind of was fooling himself...and maybe she was too. Maybe they both wanted to deny their pasts, who they were, at least for a little while. Then reality slapped them both pretty hard.
I think Dorian was brave and the bigger man for giving up his pursuit, even though he really wanted her, or thought he did at the time.

Already, pretty sure the kiss wasn't THAT good. Come on. And chaol's loyalty is both his strength and a weakness. To a fault.
And man Dorian, finding those ancient books. I wish I had a book to keep track of all these damn bloodlines and powers and people and who's who. I can barely keep some stuff straight. Lineage, oy. Havilivard and Galathynius, tangled mess that what

Things were a little icy and testy between the prince and the assassin, and now they thawed,kind of.

I still do not know the significance of the stag other than it is a terrasen symbol.

Poor little Dorian, still pinning after Cel even when she said she...well, ya know. And he is apparently inexperienced on the battle field, hasn't seen much blood and gore. That prob changes.
And I don't remember cel and chaol being that chummy, especially in the beginning of the book. They hadnt been at the end of the last book, now they suddenly are huggy feely friendly?Wtf.They just grew rapidly without grounding

*snickers* I think Chaol had like a stroke or something. He just can't handle it. But then again, think we all knew that he couldn't handle a whirlwind of fire like...like FireHeart.
