I FEEL LIKE ITS STARTING TO COME TOGETHER….
After his conversation with Mr. koyasu, where he finds out the man is a ghost, I’m starting to put things together.
Heres what I think —
The city with the walls is a sort of afterlife. shadow represents the passage of time, morality…
Humans have to give up their shadow/emotions to enter the city, aka eternity.
